Wrestlemania 10 Review

...And away we go as we start with an all time show with a couple of the best matches ever.

Owen Hart defeated Bret Hart (20:21)
Owen pinned Bret by sitting down on a Victory Roll attempt from Bret.
*****
IMO, this is the best match ever. Classic wrestling and a great story behind it to boot. See this Match!

Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon defeated Doink the Clown (Ray Apollo) and Dink in a "Mixed Tag Team match" (6:09)
Bigelow pinned Doink after a Diving Headbutt.
*
Yawn.

Randy Savage defeated Crush (w/Mr. Fuji) in a Falls Count Anywhere Match (9:49)
Savage won the match when he hogtied Crush to a winch backstage in the Garden, preventing him from returning to the ring within 60 seconds.
***
I actually dug this match quite a bit. The WWF didn't have too many hardcore matches back then. You got to see the backstage area in a match for the 1st time.

Alundra Blayze defeated Leilani Kai to retain the WWF Women's Championship (3:20)
Blayze pinned Kai with a Bridging German Suplex.
*
Short and not too good. That summarizes the women's division for this time period.

Men on a Mission (Mabel and Mo) (w/Oscar) defeated WWF Tag Team Champions The Quebecers (Jacques and Pierre) (w/Johnny Polo) by count-out (7:41)
The Quebecers were counted-out after Polo pulled Jacques out of the ring, deliberately causing a count-out, to prevent a title change.
**
Not bad for a MOM match.

Yokozuna (w/Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette) defeated Lex Luger (w/Mr. Perfect as Special Guest Referee) by disqualification to retain the WWF Championship (14:40)
Mr. Perfect disqualified Luger for shoving him after Perfect refused to count one of Luger's pinfall attempts. *3/4
This was basically Luger's last shot at the belt. In classic Luger fassion he choked it away.

Earthquake defeated Adam Bomb (0:32)
Earthquake pinned Bomb after an Earthquake Splash.
Earthquake's opponent was originally supposed to be Ludvig Borga.
DUD
Match was about 29 seconds too long.

Razor Ramon defeated Shawn Michaels (w/Diesel) in a Ladder match to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship (18:47)
Ramon climbed the ladder and retrieved both belts after Michaels became entangled in the ring ropes.
There were two belts because Michaels had been claiming he was still IC Champion despite having been stripped of the title several months earlier.
*****
The 1st ladder match on WWF PPV. I believe this was the 2nd WWF ladder match after Michaels vs. Bret Hart on Saturday Night’s Main Event. A match that got plenty of current wrestlers into the business today. I still like the rematch better.

Bret Hart defeated Yokozuna (w/Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette) (w/Roddy Piper as Special Guest Referee) to win the WWF Championship (10:38)
Hart pinned Yokozuna after he collapsed due to exhaustion and fell off the middle rope.
Many of the company's top faces and officials entered the ring to celebrate with Hart after his win, including Lex Luger, Randy Savage, Razor Ramon, Tatanka, Pat Patterson, Gorilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon.
**
Match was watchable thanks to Bret.

~ All in all, a classic PPV that everyone should see at least for the 2 ***** matches.
Take those off and the show sucks like a $20 hooker.
