In Your House XI: Buried Alive Review

No Shawn Michaels on this show. Well then who’s gonna make it watchable?

Steve Austin defeated Hunter Hearst Helmsley (15:30)
Austin pinned Helmsley after a Stone Cold Stunner.
Mr. Perfect, who came ringside to steal Helmsley's valet late in the match, ended up having confrontations with both participants.
**3/4
Solid enough opener although both men would go on to do a little better for themselves.

Owen Hart and The British Bulldog defeated The Smokin' Gunns (Billy and Bart) to retain the WWF Tag Team Championship (9:17)
Owen pinned Billy after a Spinning Heel Kick after Bulldog stopped the Gunns' attempt at the Sidewinder.
**
OK match.

Marc Mero (w/Sable) defeated Goldust (w/Marlena) to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship (11:38)
Mero pinned Goldust after a Wild Thing.
**1/2
Not that bad although Goldust getting on the mic in the middle of the match was a little weird…but that’s Goldust.

Sycho Sid defeated Vader (w/Jim Cornette) (8:00)
Sid pinned Vader after a Chokeslam to become the #1 contender for the WWF Championship.
*
Sid laid on the ground outside for what seemed like minutes and that really brought this one down.

The Undertaker defeated Mankind (w/Paul Bearer) in the first Buried Alive match (18:25)
After the match, The Executioner made his TV debut by hitting Undertaker over the head with a shovel, then proceeded to bury him with help from Mankind, Justin Bradshaw, Goldust, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, and Crush.
***1/2
Really entertaining main event and the 2nd best match they would ever have (Revenge of the Taker)

~ Main event was surprisingly good. The rest was blah but nothing painful really.
