Backlash 2001 Review

This show usually had Wrestlemania rematches, but not his year! (that's bad)

X-Factor (X-Pac, Justin Credible and Albert) defeated The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray, D-Von) and Spike (7:59)
X-Pac pinned Bubba Ray after he and Credible double superkicked Bubba.
**
OK opener.

Rhyno defeated Raven to retain the WWF Hardcore Championship (8:10)
Rhyno pinned Raven after a Gore.
***1/4
Probably the best 1-on-1 hardcore match since the title orignated.

William Regal defeated Chris Jericho in a Duchess of Queensbury Rules Match (12:11)
Regal pinned Jericho after hitting him with a steel chair.
**3/4
Pretty good stuff all around.

Chris Benoit defeated Kurt Angle in an Ultimate Submission Match (31:31)
Benoit won 4 falls to 3 in overtime
****
Not as good as last month's but still great.

Shane McMahon defeated The Big Show in a Last Man Standing Match (11:53)
McMahon won after an elbow drop from the top of the Titan Tron onto Big Show through a table.
*
Nothing but a big fall here.

Matt Hardy defeated Christian and Eddie Guerrero in a Triple threat match to retain the WWF European Championship (6:52)
Matt pinned Christian after a Twist of Fate.
*3/4
Not too good considering who was involved.

WWF Champion Steve Austin and WWF Intercontinental Champion Triple H defeated The Undertaker and Kane to win the WWF Tag Team Championship (27:11).
Triple H pinned Kane after hitting him with a sledgehammer.
All three titles were on the line in this match.
**1/2
Just another OK match. Everyone knew HHH and Austin were going over here.

~ Show was pretty solid.
