Wrestlemania 21 Review

This WM is 2 kewl 4 roman numerals.

• Rey Mysterio defeated Eddie Guerrero (12:39)
o Mysterio pinned Guerrero with a Hurricanrana.
o ***1/2
A lot of people were dissapointed w/ this match but I thought it rocked it hard biatch (or something).

• Edge defeated Chris Jericho, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Benoit, Christian (w/Tyson Tomko) and Kane in a Money in the Bank ladder match (15:17)
o Edge won by climbing a ladder and retrieving the briefcase hanging above the ring.
o ****1/2
Hot damn now thats a match. Shelton should have become a mega star ala HBK after this but huzzah.

• Hulk Hogan made a surprise appearance saving Eugene from an onslaught by Muhammad Hassan and Daivari, both of whom were infuriated for being excluded from the event.

• The Undertaker defeated Randy Orton (14:14)
o Undertaker pinned Orton after a Tombstone Piledriver.
o ***3/4
Suprisingly awesome for Taker and Randy "Headlock" Orton.

• Trish Stratus defeated Christy Hemme (w/Lita) to retain the WWE Women's Championship (4:11)
o Stratus pinned Hemme after a Chick Kick.
o ½*
Yeah...what were you expecting?

• Kurt Angle defeated Shawn Michaels (27:25)
o Angle forced Michaels to submit with the Ankle Lock.
o ****3/4
And that's your WWE MOTY. This had a lot of hype, and it completely lived up to it and more.

• Piper's Pit segment with guest Steve Austin
o "Rowdy" Roddy Piper confronted Stone Cold Steve Austin until Carlito interrupted and began to insult them. This resulted in Carlito receiving a Stone Cold Stunner from Austin and Piper throwing him out of the ring. Both ended the segment celebrating with beer until Austin gave Piper a Stone Cold Stunner as well.

• Akebono defeated The Big Show in a Sumo Match (1:02)
o Akebono defeated Big Show by throwing him out of the ring.
o No Rating

• John Cena defeated John "Bradshaw" Layfield to win the WWE Championship (11:26)
o Cena pinned JBL after an F-U.
o **
So long JBL. Your shitty 9 month reign gets erased in 12 minutes...I joke, I joke...it was 11 and a half minutes...

• "Mean" Gene Okerlund introduced the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2005:
o "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart, "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, The Iron Sheik, "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Nikolai Volkoff, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and Hulk Hogan.

• Batista defeated Triple H (w/Ric Flair) to win the World Heavyweight Championship (21:34)
o Batista pinned Triple H after a Batista Bomb.
o Motörhead performed Triple H's entrance music live.
o **1/2
Dissapointing considering all the other great matches, and the main event was just OK.

~ Great show including a ***1/2 match and 2 MOTYC.
