Unforgiven 2004 Review

The Orton era ends.

• Chris Benoit and William Regal defeated Ric Flair and Batista (15:05)
o Benoit made Flair submit to the Crippler Crossface.
o ***
Fun little opener (or long given it was 15 minutes).

• Trish Stratus (w/Tyson Tomko) defeated Victoria to retain the WWE Women's Championship (8:21)
o Trish pinned Victoria after a Stratusfaction.
o Tomko tried to attack Victoria after the match until she was saved by a man in drag (Steven Richards). Tomko challenged him to a match.
o *
Pretty bad for the 2 best in the division.

• Tyson Tomko defeated Steven Richards (6:24)
o Tomko pinned Richards after a modified swinging neckbreaker.
o -****
But not as bad as this. Wow oh wow.

• Chris Jericho defeated Christian in a Ladder match to win the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship (22:29)
o Jericho won the match by retrieving the belt.
o ***
Just the most generic of ladder matches.

• Shawn Michaels defeated Kane (w/Lita) in a No Disqualification Match (18:02)
o Michaels pinned Kane after a Sweet Chin Music.
o **3/4
Pretty fun for what it was.

• La Résistance (Sylvain Grenier and Robért Conway) defeated Tajiri and Rhyno to retain the World Tag Team Championship (9:40)
o Grenier pinned Rhyno after hitting him with the Quebec Flag.
o *1/2
Raw match.

• Triple H defeated Randy Orton to win the World Heavyweight Championship (24:44)
o Triple H pinned Orton after a Pedigree onto a steel chair.
o Jonathan Coachman, Ric Flair and Batista all interfered during the match on HHH's behalf.
o **1/4
Just decent. Should have been better given the time.

~ There seems to be a trend of 2 *** matches and nothing else on PPVs as of late. This one also includes one of the worst matches ever.
